I have had this great little piece of furniture for 6 years come next month and it is holding up great. I needed something low enough to fit under my windows for some storage and for my cats to be able to sit on to look outside. The top and front are a nice solid wood and the sides and back are super thin but not noticeable unless you really inspect it. Nice dark color but in bright sunlight it does have a purplish hue. I love it though and would definitely buy it again. I just bought the same one only longer and 7 years ago i bought 2 of the taller ones from the same company. They all look great after all this time.

+1 star for having the easiest instructions for any piece of furniture I've ever had to build, +1 star for all the pieces fitting properly and not needing to make do with any wonky parts, +1 just for fitting my little VHS TV, and +1 for also fitting all my tapes in the little compartment, and finally +1 for being stylish and not looking or feeling cheap.5 stars for this wonderful little stand because yes, I'm still toting some VHS tapes and a little TV/VHS player but its not the main media of my living room so i wanted something cute to put it all together on the side and this does it.I was able to put it together myself and was surprised at how well all the pieces just fit together with no problems or manufacturing errors. It fits and stores everything it needs to and looks nice doing it. Well done on this one. I will probably end up looking towards more Winsome stuff in the future for things like this.

I needed something to put my Dyson hot/cool link fan on and this is perfect. First, let me say how much I appreciate how fast this shipped!!! With the pandemic, I wasn’t expecting this until the 19th but I received it today the 9th!!! There were only 8 screws to fasten and the door knob thingy. It probably took me longer looking for my little drill than it took to put this together. Am I going to stand on it to reach for something up high? No. But am I worried if I put my $700 fan on it or put something heavy on it? Not at all. It is sleek and not too low and not too high for my needs. I like it a lot!

I read all the reviews and the stand is what I expected. It looks good but is not a future heirloom.I am a 60 year old woman (Mrs. Don M.) who put the stand together in 45 minutes. I put one part together wrong so I used my power drill to make a hole rather than take it all apart. I am not very good at understanding dimensional instructions so I am sure many others will put this together much faster.It is perfect for the small corner of the master bedroom where my husband and I watch our 32" flat screen tv. My decorating is traditional with some oriental influence so this table is perfect.It does have a deep purple hue as someone mentioned in a review. Mine is not located in direct sunlight so it does not bother me. If it did, I would just paint it with a coat of black paint. The size is perfect for my small space.I gave it a four because it was missing one of the screw plugs. I cannot see it on the back of the stand so I will not bother to try to get the part.

I needed a short stand with a shelf and enclosed storage for a TV installation. I had mounted a TV and sound bar on the wall of our spare room. You could get it to work, but only when seated in a specific location. It was annoying and, more importantly, not acceptable to my significant other.So I went on a hunt for something suitable that would, I hoped, fit in with the room decor. For a reasonable price, there isn't a lot out there. After a lot of searching on Amazon and some other retailers with online presence, I even searched on Ikea. I was more than surprised to see that even the Swedish giant didn't have anything suitable -- whaaaaat?So I kept coming back to this unit and dithering for days because of so many bad reviews. I've confidently bought products with some bad reviews when I am certain that the reviewer didn't know what they were doing, what they were talking about, or were a troll. And I suspected that many of the negative reviews for this item fell into that category, but I couldn't be sure of all of them.So, not finding anything else that inspired me or inspired confidence, I pulled the trigger. At just over $66 with Prime shipping included, I thought it was a bit over-priced, but there weren't many other options unless I was willing to spend a lot more. For a spare room? Nah, not going to spend more.Once the stand arrived and I unpacked it, I was mildly pleased. The finish isn't great, but for the price, I wasn't expecting any better, and would not have been surprised had it been worse. There were no knicks, no uneven areas, no glaring variations.All parts were included and the packaging was good. The overall design is good (with one exception -- see below) with an emphasis on ease of assembly. And that pays off -- I had this thing assembled in under 15 minutes. Were I to do it again, I know I could get that down to about 5 minutes. The design of this piece is one of the best I've seen from that perspective, and solidity of the assembled unit is not compromised. I have nothing resting on the top shelf, but I am confident it could hold a fairly heavy load.On the shelf I have a Toshiba DVD recorder, topped by a Bell TV satellite receiver. The Toshiba unit is slim, and the stacked pair fit nicely, though without much vertical clearance to spare. In the bottom compartment I have an Amazon Fire TV streamer and a USB hard disk connected to the satellite receiver as the drive for the DVR function. All the cables for the devices route through the cable exit built into the back panel.Now for the one bad design choice. The bottom rails that run between the front and back legs have no guides in the legs to secure their positioning. This means that when you attach them with the included screws, they can rotate around the axis. Especially when using a power screwdriver, you have to finish up the attachment very carefully so that they are exactly perpendicular to the legs.If you don't, you will do exactly what I did -- you will drive a screw into the end of the rail but not exactly into the rail's guide hole, and you will split the rail piece. I'm going to get a replacement rail, but replacing it will a chore because I will likely have to remove all the equipment. Because the signal cables run through the wall, I don't have a lot of excess cable to work with, and plugging everything back in means the unit needs to be close to the wall and the equipment pretty much in their final positions.So that assembly mistake was clearly my own fault, but it could easily be averted by having guides that hold those rails perpendicular during the final fastening step. But by no means should this issue on its own deter anyone from buying this unit if it meets their needs and fits their decor. I would not hesitate buying this again if I had a need -- and I can foresee that.*EDIT/UPDATE 2015-01-18*As others have said, the magnet that holds the bottom door shut is too strong. I'm not sure why the manufacturer chose that part; maybe they just got a great price on the assembly and thought, what the heck, better than too weak! In any event, unless you apply backward pressure to the bottom of the open shelf, when you try to open the door you will move the whole unit unless you have a pretty heavy object on the top of the stand. I don't so the strong magnet is a bit of a pain. I don't open the door often, so it's not a big issue for me. But I did want to include this to confirm what others have noted.Read more

We needed a table this size to house our cable box, router, etc. It's simplistically pretty and does what we needed it to do. If you're looking for something stable, perhaps you have a child who might sit on it, for instance, you might want to look elsewhere. No matter how hard I tried to tighten the screws, they never got tight enough and the table is a teensy bit wobbly. It won't stand up to lots of moving around, but it meets our needs so I'm happy with the purchase.

Everything local in stores was too much of something and not enough of the other. This fits the need perfectly and will certainly be sturdy enough to last as long as we need it. It's not what you'd describe as heirloom quality, but it was easy to assemble and definitely good enough. Recommended, as long as you can remember this is self-assembled furniture made of some form of mystery wood at a price point well below $100...

I got this as a TV stand for my daughter's bedroom that has limited space. It assembled easily, although the screw they included to attach the knob wasn't quite long enough to catch. Had to go to Lowe's to buy a longer one. I don't think it will last very long, but for the price, I guess it doesn't have to. I wouldn't put anything very heavy on it. It's fine for a lightweight flat screen TV with stand though.

What I didn’t like is that the screw was a bit shorter for the knob on here, which made the knob kind of loose. Other than that this was a great choice for an entertainment stand as it is holding my 50 inch tv with a swivel stand and it is kind of spacious inside.

I was excited when I first saw it because the wood looked good. However directions were terrible quality of screws terrible the way the two shelves were installed was ridiculous. I’m so disappointed. I have put together a sofa table, a fireplace a huge fireplace and bookshelves and a storage unit with no issues this little thing caused more issues for me than any of the others. I would like to return but it’s too expensive with the weight of the item.

This is, maybe, a $40 item. Not the $80 I paid, or the $120 original price. It was adequately packaged, nothing broken, and had the the parts (screws) necessary for assembly. And while the top was substantial the sides were paper thin, or more accurately, a quarters width wide. I took a couple of pictures to show how thin the panels are. I also couldn't get one of the panels seated. Upon close inspection, I found the grooves cut for the panel didn't line up. With a box cutter I shaved wood off the bottom groove and then, because the wood is so thin, I was able to press-fit the panel into place. Oddly enough I'm keeping the cabinet because I couldn't find anything else that fit the bill. It's just sad I paid that much for it.

A nice looking piece of furniture but not that sturdy! no matter how tight the screws are, or the use of wood glue this stand is not too sturdy. It won't fall apart and holds everything put on it alright but if you close the lower door you can feel it's lack of strength. For a light flat screen TV and a few accessories your okay but if it's a heavy appliance I would look at something else. It would not be good with a much older heavy TV.
