Our light did not have the neutral and hot wires labeled. One wire had texture, and the other had writing. Typically you'll only see writing OR texture to indicate the hot wire. We called Wayfair and Sterling (the company that manufactures the light) and both gave us different answers for which wire was the hot wire. Additionally, the inside of the metal is NOT painted, so it looks rusted. The glass is very hard to keep clean and shows any fiber residue from cleaning, dust, and finger prints.
