I was overwhelmed when I began assembling, but it just took patience and a lot of Allen wrench twists!

This is a very good looking set up and most of the bed is made with real wood (the storage steps have some particle board parts). The set arrived in 3 separate boxes (one of them arrived a week later than the rest). Only one of the boxes contains the hardware so be VERY careful while opening the crates. Ours had red thread attached to the hardware bags. Each box has its own set of directions and the translation from Vietnamese to English is NOT GOOD. Yes, these are made in Vietman, so if you're a vet of that era you may not want to purchase them.Take your time and lay out all the parts, and hardware. The hardware bags have tiny (and I mean tiny) pieces of paper in them with the designated part number (or letter) on them. Be very wary while opening the bags. You'll want to assemble these beds with at least two people as there are many steps and some require holding up partially assembled parts to attach to other parts. My wife and I spent somewhere around 3-4 hours assembling both beds and the steps. It is a very long process which is not helped by the fact that the screw heads are Allen wrench and the wrench provided is very small. My hands were literally numb by the time we were done.I weigh around 190 and wouldn't dare to climb up onto the top bunk. The cross members are not very thick and the legs of the bed are quite thin, probably 2x3. A few of the bolts were the wrong length and I will have to cut them down to be able to use them. There was no extra hardware included with these units. So be careful. If you lose anything then you're screwed (pun intended). These are at my summer/winter cottage and I'll add picks the next time I'm there.Read more

Whew this took a long time for my husband and I to assemble. 2 mathematical people with the proper tools and yet . . .so plan to spend a very long day assembling. Read thoroughly. If you get 1 picture wrong ( since it lacks verbal directions) you will have to take it all apart. My son loves it! It doesn't feel sturdy like our other wood furniture...but it was cheap so you get what you pay for. However it doesn't feel like it will break so we are ok with that.It However is very low! So expect your child will hit his head when getting up at night. It is not a normal height bunk!!! My son who is 4 feet (1st grade) woke us up screaming when he banged his head-he banged it into the perpendicular top bunk when he sat up quickly on his full bed. So now he is forced to sleep with a night light.Just know...your child won't use this for long (so we are happy we didn't buy the 1200 one. Lol)

This is a very nice bed once assembled, but assembly is not for the faint hearted. This thing has 80+ pieces, not including hardware. This assembly is not for novices; if you are pretty handy you can plan an entire weekend assembling this bed. The pieces are manufactured very precisely and fit together well, but the instructions are OK but very small print and have to be followed PRECISELY. You also MUST have a power drill/ driver with a hex bit. If you are not pretty experienced with a complicated assembly you need to pass on this; it comes completely in pieces and is quite a bit of work to assemble. The finished product is nice but a lot of work to put it together

It came in 3 boxes; the bunk, stairs, and lower bed. Using an impact driver on most of the parts made assembly easier than using just the allen wrench. Just don't over tighten. I was able to assemble it on my own. The bunk was tricky but I managed. Pay attention to the rails. I had to disassemble the bunk frame because I put them on backwards. Assembly took around 3 hours with the stairs being the most difficult part. The quality is better than expected. The only suggestion I have is about the guard rail. It's too short, in my opinion, if a comfortable decent quality mattress is used. All-in-all it's a great buy.

Great bed for the money, now that it's built. Really a challenge to build it thoughOne of the 3 boxes had line art of the wrong bed on it. Wasted 2 days trying to contact the company to make sure it was the right box because it states you can't return if you open the box. Also the instructions are very confusing about which bolts / screws to use on which steps. Also had to go to Lowes to get longer bolts to connect the bed to the stairsBUT now that it's together, I'm very happy with it.

I purchased this over a metal bed because it looked more sturdy and nicer. I had a handy man help me assemble it and it was wobbling. We had to add support boards to stabilize it. The wood was much more narrow than I expected and it looks like a Walmart quality bed. I could have bought a metal bed for a fraction of the price. I hoped to be receiving a pottery barn Aesthetic that would last for years to come. Instead I got a wobbly cheap looking bed that I will be lucky if it last 2 years. Keep your money and look else where.

Assembly was awful. Parts were mislabeled, and the instructions were often unclear, sometimes with a hardware image totally missing. I had to take apart the whole thing and rebuild it after I guessed wrong on one step that was unclear. At one point you have to screw into a small dowel rod to attach the stair railing, and it just shatters under the pressure. The bed overall is very wobbly, but it looks nice. There could very easily have been thicker, sturdier beams. There were some quality control issues too with running paint or scratches.I love that the full bed was not attached, as I didn’t need it and sold it.The storage under the stairs is long and fits a lot, but the biggest compartment (the bottom stair) doesn’t even have a way to open it. I just left the cover off it so that it can be accessed and not wasted.

Twin

A Twin bed also referred to as a single bed is one of the smallest bed in the market with a dimension of 38’’ by 75’’. Its compact size makes it ideal for single sleepers may it be children or an adult living in a small space such as a studio apartment. It’s an affordable and versatile bed set up for various sleepers such as toddlers and college student in the dorm. For over several decades it has been one of the most popular beds among college students and young children in their early teens as you can find it in most of their bedrooms, however in this modern age where people are seeking for more comfort and space, the popularity of twin beds is been over taken by queen size beds. Despite being great for growing children it’s also very flexible and versatile especially if you are trying to maximize the space in your bedroom.

Gray

Gray as a color can be somehow depressing and uninspiring especially in a darker bedroom, and as you already know sleeping in a gray bedroom is not as satisfying as sleeping in a brighter bedroom. Gray might not be as inviting as other colors but that doesn’t mean that a Gray bed is not a good choice for your bedroom. All you need to know before choosing a gray bed or any other no so bright colored bed is which bedroom décor is the best for that specific bed color. With a gray bed it can be really advantageous especially if you have an all-white bedroom since it will tone down the general look for your bedroom, creating some form of contrast. In case you have a bright bedroom and you wish to tone down I would definitely recommend for you a gray bed to help tone down your bedroom décor.

White

A white bed is definitely a show stopper, it’s plain and simple. Despite people referring to white as lack of other colors, a white bed makes quite a statement. It gives your bedroom space a more open and timeless feel, while allowing your bedroom décor to standout even more clearly. A bed with a pure shade of white energizes your entire space giving it a vibrant new look, giving you the illusion of a more light within your bedroom. What makes a white bed a favorite for many is the fact that white as a color creates a relaxing sleep environment. And as you know choosing the right color is very important, since color is like magic and can influence your state of mind and emotions. If there is one thing you should do right is get yourself a white bed and enjoy every single moment you spend in your bedroom.

Drawers

A cluttered bedroom is not pleasing and relaxing at all. Sometimes, though your things are well-organized, seeing them still makes your space crowded. Two options are available: throw away your stuff or upgrade your regular bed into a drawer or storage bed. For sure, you will choose the latter, right?

Space-saving and multifunctional, drawer beds can make you feel like you don't need shelves and cabinets anymore. They come with 2 drawers, 4 drawers, 2 full and 2 half drawers, or end drawers built in the bed frame. Full ottoman and half ottoman are also available, where the entire bed offers hidden storage space. Drawer beds can also benefit your stuff since they are hidden, they won't accumulate dust. Finding them can also be easy for you because you have just one place to look at. After all, a tidy room can make your sleep better and more comfortable. And, yes, there's no such thing as too much storage.

Kids

The home is the training ground for children. It's where they learn and cultivate their values and character. So as a parent or a guardian, you play a big role in who they will become. Allow them to be themselves, to explore what they like, and to play with their imagination. Actually, you can start with their bedroom. How? Ask them what wall color they like. If you have an extra budget for a custom-made bed, ask your little one how he would like for it to look like. A car? A train? A spaceship? A dollhouse? Or if you can, build the bed yourself! It can be a great bonding time for you and your kids.

A kid's bed can also be space-saving with its built-in drawers, which can be a way to tidy up their toys and books. Beds with bedside table, where your child(ren) can study and play with papers and crayons, are also available in the market. Of course, kids love to play. Make bedtime fun with tent beds, beds with slide, and house-shaped kids' beds! Surely, your youngster will enjoy both his waking and sleeping hours.

Storage Included

When your bedroom space is small storage can be the biggest challenge you will encounter. Your closet could be a solution but not big enough to pack so many clothes. Well, you may want to buy a bigger cabinet, but you don’t want to pack so many dressers and cabinets into your space that it feels clunky and crowded. Storage beds are a fantastic way to get more space without adding extra furniture, and a lot of them are so stylishly designed you almost don’t notice the drawers are there. This bed design offers a great way to make the most of the space in your room, giving you a place to stash clothes, bedding, and more inside or beneath your bed frame. The best storage beds feature spacious compartments that are easy to access, and with tons of styles to choose from. The most common options are shelves built into the headboard or drawers built into the frame below the mattress. Depending on the reason you want space, a storage bed provides easy access, but if you're storing items that you don't need to get to very often, you can opt for a spacious platform beneath the bed that can be accessed when you lift the mattress. Ultimately, your choice will come down to what's most convenient for you.

Single Material

When you need to kick back and unwind on your own, you need a single-material bed. Single-material beds are an excellent choice for anyone that likes simplicity and practicality. Without combining materials, you get a clean and uniform looking bed that will match any bedroom. The con of a single-material bed is that they won’t stand out as much as other beds, but this can also be a pro as well, as it means they’ll easily blend into any room and not take attention away from other features that are nearby. The single-material is recommended if you’re after a bed for a minimalist setting, something that looks very simple and neutral - then you’re going to be satisfied by the single-material bed. Single-material beds also look great when you have two separate beds in the same room - the single-material look really gives the room a strong, matching and consistent appearance.

Solid Wood

When you're after a classy, reliable and natural look for your bed - you need the solid-wood style. This style of bed is nostalgic and will be a great match for any bedroom setting. You can not go wrong with a solid-wood bed. Whether it's fitting into an elegant and inspiring bedroom that's complete with scented candles, or into a main bedroom that has a focus on simplicity and minimalism - the solid-wood style bed will be the perfect choice for everybody. With their familiar appearance, they will also feel comforting to any guests that are to sleep on them. Solid-wood frames are a nice, neutral choice - they don’t have a strong and overbearing appearance, yet they still manage to attract the eye in a subtle, comforting way. If you’re after a style of bed that can fit into every setting, yet never steal the attention away from other important features in the room - then the solid-wood bed is what you need.

Espresso Wood

When talking about coffees, espresso is the strong black one. In furniture and woods, it is actually somewhat similar to that. Espresso is a deep, dark brown color, so dark that it is sometimes mistaken to be jet black when, in fact, it stands between the two colors. If you want your bed to look elegant, go for espresso wood. It will also appear neat because dark color can magically tuck away dirt and dust. When under direct lighting, espresso gives out red hues. Cabinets, tables, and shelves that are in espresso sell more than those in light colors because many people opt for a traditional and classic look. Because of its neutral color, espresso is very versatile. It can go well with any home color scheme and design style. Since it's not black and definitely not a bright color, espresso can be pleasing and gentle to the feeling and to the eyes. It can also make you feel relaxed because of its soothing and coffee-like color, perfect after a long day at work.

Espresso may also be your favorite drink! You will definitely wake up feeling energized just by seeing your bed.
