This bed is absolutely beautiful. I feel like a princess and can't stop staring at it. BUT it's veryyyy complicated to put together. I bought the frame and the extenders at the same time just in case and I'm SO glad I did. BUY THIS BED. Great price and it's very durable, and a great steal. My only advise is to buy the whole set, headboard and footboard, frame, and extenders.

Not as bright as illustrated, more of a brushed antique brass finish, but still quite pretty. As others have noted, the welding is minimal, but should be adequate unless you anticipate exceptionally athletic activities. The hardware kit doesn't agree with the assembly instructions. Assembly calls for only 12 of the long machine screws (for attaching the corners), and four short screws plus four flat washers (for attaching foot caps to the footboard). The remaining screws, nuts, and assorted washers serve no indicated purpose. They may be intended to be used in assembly, but it's not stated. If the are for attaching the head and footboard to frame rails, there aren't enough of them.Okay, regarding the hardware kit: four short screws, four lock washers, and four flat washers are used to attach the frame rails into the footboard, which is threaded. Four long screws, lock washers, flat washers, and nylons nuts are used to attach the frame rails to the headboard. The large plastic washers go between the frame rails and the Head/Footboard, eight total. In short, I'm happy with this set, and can figure out the minor strangeness.Read more

but a few things must be mentioned. The picture is not quite accurate; when the footboard is attached to the frame, you will not be able to put the comforter or dust ruffle all the way down; it will bunch up where they are attached. Also, the rounded corners of both head and footboard are very prominent and stick out substantially - I had to reposition my bed in the room. Also, I find myself bumping into the outermost part when I make my way around it at night. Finally, it is not 100 percent secure. The way it is fastened. Actually, my bed frame was not made to attach the headboard and footboard, so we put the headboard against the wall, unattached; and had to move the front of the bed to the back so that the footboard could be attached. The way the bolts are positioned, it is tricky to get your fingers in there and fasten it securely. If I were to do it all over again; I would purchase a head/footboared that went straight across and didn't have the curved corners - unless I had the room to accomodate that extra space.Read more

It is ok but the bag o f bolts and nuts was opened and scattered around the box and some were missing so had to go to the hardware store to buy some more and instructions did not show how to use some of the included bolts and washers/

When this bed arrived today, I found that I only had the head board and foot boar,d with no actual frame in between. To get that, plus the attachments is an extra 90 Dollars, as well as an extra delay waiting for them to ship, because the detail page says, and I quote: "Set includes: One (1) bed". What actually did arrive looks nice, and I may well have ordered it anyway, but at least I would have known in advance to order the extra components, instead of wasting extra time, and being saddled with unexpected extra expense. It's a really bad customer experience.
