I ordered both a base and the 4 shelf stand with the intention of creating a single unit. I had contacted SANUS asking about the double-sided bolts used as I knew I would need something longer with what I planned out. Sent a crude drawing depicting my intentions, received a nice reply back from Katie, but unfortunately she was not sure about my needs. She directed me to contact their Customer Service, which wasn’t needed as the base showed up first and I just took one of the double-sided bolts to a local DIY/Hardware store and purchased the needed item, 1/4” threaded rod. They only had it in 285mm lengths, purchased a couple, brought them home, cut them in half, threaded into the inner portions of the 2 bases, the shelf showed up after purchasing the threaded rods. Now I have what is pictured (apologies for the darkness) 2 open ended bases that will house a Yamaha CX-A5200 and MX-A52000 along with an Aircom T10 above each and the 3 shelves for my remaining A/V gear.Could not be any more pleased with these pieces from SANUS. The weight capacity, sturdiness, ease of installation and just the overall look makes for an easy 5 star review from myself. If you are on the fence concerning the media stand or even just the base unit, go ahead and jump off and let your wallet breathe a little more by removing a few dollars.Read more

Likes:Easy assembly, with clear instructions.Large ShelvesAll components are sturdy and quality construction.offers optional expansion kitsmultiple configurations2 feet options - carpet spikes or adjustable rubber feetIfs/Dislikes:Not cheap, either 20 less, or additional 4 taller posts (increase assembly options out of box)1 nut was a touch buggered, making tightening quite difficultCheap upgrade on your own - someone else's recommendation, but definitely major usability upgrade - by some carpet slides. Allows easy movement, really helpful during hookup, cleaning, or any other need to move it.The 2 negatives are why i dropped the value 1 star.Read more

I have a 5 channel Amp that weighs 80 lb and will be adding 3 channel that weighs 70 lb. Along with that is the 40 lb AV unit and various players and such. I bought the 12” extension legs for more air space. My amps can get very hot. You can add another shelf, and I did. THE SECRET ADD ON !!!! Get those little shinny “stick ons” for moving furniture across carpet / hardwood floor and put them under the whole rack and the heavy units on the rack. After that you can slide the rack with ease to get to the wiring and so forth. Do this before loading the rack. Ha ha !

I researched quite awhile before making this Sanus purchase as there were many variables to consider, such as height, width, depth, colour, design, aesthetics, weight, shelf material, poundage per shelf, and cost. While the price was a little more than I'd originally planned, this shelving checked off all of must-have boxes. After two months of use, it has been an excellent purchase. It's very sturdy, highly functional, blends into the decor, doesn't look cheap or dated, and is easy to wipe clean (no fingerprints, such as on glass or plastic!).On the shelves are: a heavy all-in-one printer, two laptops, one heavy piece of electronics equipment, two tablets, two smart phones, and a docking station -- so altogether, it's substantial. I added round felt pads to the bottom "feet," so even with all of the items' weight, it can be easily scooted by one person with just a little effort across the hardwood floor. There was one problem with the unit upon receipt; it was missing its little "feet," all hardware (screws, etc.), and instructions. The box appeared to be damaged or opened in transit (via FedEx). Fortunately, the shelving and poles were in perfect shape. The amazon phone rep said the only thing she could do would be to have us return it and she'd send out another; that seemed like a royal pain. My next call to Sanus (just check the website for the U.S. phone number) was answered by a polite and friendly associate who understood what we needed and shipped out the missing pieces right away. My advice to a seller would be to package the unit a bit better, with the smaller accessories together in a baggie and taped securely to the bottom of one of the shelves to avoid disappearing.Regardless of the oopsie, I'm pleased and would consider other Sanus products in the future. This unit could also serve well for items besides audio and other electronics items, such as kitchenware (microwave or mixer or bread maker, heavy mixing bowls, and such), depending on the room's style.Read more

I really like this AV stand. It's just perfect for my needs! It's not to wide and the depth doesn't take much space since I just live in a small apartment. Very easy to install and it's less $80-100 here on Amazon compared to eBay.

I got this Sanus AV media stand together with the Sanus the EFAB-B1 to make 2 independent stands. One of has 2 shelfs and the other has 3. The 2 shelfs one is 14 inches tall and I am using it to mount my UST Laser Projector and works perfect with the Yard master 2 Elite Screen. The Problem with these Media Stand is the Package, since they both arrived with some minor damage, scratches and dents Sanus should use better boxes and packing material to protect the content. I contacted Customer Support and their response was that the product is discontinued and they don't support it. I’m still keeping it since the damage are in the back and not very visible.

My wife bought this for me for Christmas. I wanted it because it was the only rack strong enough to hold my equipment. The description said the shelves were 10" and 8" apart but my amp would not fit. It came with just the 8" legs. I called to order the longer legs and was told the item has been discontinued. Rack is useless without the 10" or 12" legs.Good sturdy rack but parts are unavailable.

Cable Management

Electric devices play a crucial role in brightening the living room and breaking boredom. A cable management feature on a tv stand will ensure neatness while offering safety. All devices must use electricity and cables running everywhere, which can pose a significant risk for any member of the house. With a cable management feature installed on a tv stand, you rest assured of safety and elegance. Stands without proper cable management usually look shaggy, and in case you have toddlers around, you never know when the can will be changed to 'meal' as they don't choose what goes in the mouth. Managing cables or wires helps to maintain essential functions and also protect the devices from the clogged airflow due to messy and disordered wires. Tangled-up lines may make it hard for anyone cleaning the tv stand. The cable management feature is therefore essential to create a visually pleasing and clean work environment.

Storage

Keep clutter to a minimum in your living room by getting a TV stand that is fitted with some storage area that can be used to conceal and organize all of your living room necessities, starting from your children toys, magazines, remote controls, novels, to any other form of clutter you might have in your house. Such a piece of furniture do really come in handy as it allows you to store more both in style and without having to occupy so much space. For most living room, TV stand fitted with storage such as cabinets, shelves, safes, or hutches are stylish storage additions especially for modern or traditional living room designs, as they tend to bring some sense of style to your space while still providing you with plenty of storage.

Black

A black finish on your tv stand is one of the best options for a tv stand. Black establishes an eye-catching relationship between the rest of the living room decor and your tv stand. It also makes the furniture complement each other. The black finish will most likely blend in with the rest of your decor and walls unless you choose a different option. The tv stand itself won’t stand out, but you can use elements around it that do. For example, white flower vases are a great bet. The exact role can be taken on by the area rug or the lighting in the room. Each black tv finish stand has its own set of properties, which allow it to stand out in various ways and to interact with the surrounding space in its path. However, the black finish will easily show dust hence making you clean more. This finish does not take scratches and dents well, therefore expensive to maintain.

Metal

Wondering which best tv material for your tv stands? Worry no more. For a tv stand that is contemporary and modern, metal is the way to go. Metal produces rudimentary designs that are attractive and elegant. The tv stand made from this material is sturdy and will serve you for decades. Metal is easy to maintain. Metal can easily be curved into different shapes that make it easy to work with. Depending on your choice, metal, when furnished with paint, your tv stand will be attractive. This material, when used on tv stand it is shinny, and the edges can be seen. Metal being ductile makes tv stands look fantastic. Metals stands can also be blended with wood to make final tv products. Even though metal can rust, special alloys are applied to reduce or evade rust. Metal materials are readily available and easy to work with.

Steel

A tv stand made of steel is sleek, modern, and extremely durable. Steel is an incredibly strong and long-lasting material that is often used in furniture making and appliances because of the unmatched strength and resilience of the material. A steel tv stand is a perfect choice to enhance a modern-contemporary or industrial home décor motif; oftentimes, steel tv stands have unique, distinctive lines that lend well to a modern aesthetic. A steel tv stand may not be the best choice for homes with small children, as sharp corners or edges may pose a danger; in addition, a steel tv stand may show fingerprints or dirt easily; however, you should be able to clean it easily using a microfiber cloth. A steel tv stand is the perfect way to enhance the modern, sleek, and sophisticated look and feel of your home living space.
