If there was an option for half stars, I would have rated this 3-1/2 rather than 4 (I didn’t think it warranted a lower 3 star rating, but given the cons, it also doesn’t really warrant 4 stars). The bed was delivered fairly quickly, and I had purchased both the bed frame as well as the headboard, so both were delivered together, a major plus. Now, for my review, I’ll list pros and cons below.First, the pros:**All components were very well packaged.**All parts were shipped, nothing was missing.**Once set up, the headboard and frame are really quite heavy and feel sturdy.**Bed (and headboard) does look exactly as shown in the ad.**Despite someone asking in comments if the bedframe on the side of the bed opposite the drawers is left open, and being told that it was, I was pleasantly surprised to find that a sideboard IS included to close off the side of the bed where there are no drawers.**Even though it is recommended that two people are needed to build the bed, I was able to do it on my own (I’m a 4’11”, 63-yr-old female). It did take me a long time, but I took LOTS of breaks and separated it out into two days to complete it. I could have done it in a few hours in one day if I’d been more determined.**The instructions for both the headboard and the bed frame were easy to follow (see caveat below, however, about parts listings). Now, the cons:**The biggest con: The slats for this bed are EXTREMELY flimsy (thin, soft wood). I’m worried that at some point in the future they might start to fail…and I’m not a big person (115 lbs at most). If a child were bouncing around on the bed, I suspect that the slats could easily be compromised. I imagine that this could be remedied by placing a thin sheet of plywood over them, but for the price one is paying for this bed, this shouldn’t even be a requirement. The slats should definitely have been made with sturdier wood.**Halfway through the instructions on setting up the frame it says (paraphrasing) “If you purchased the matching headboard, now is the time to attach the frame. Go to the instructions for the headboard for details”. But…there was nothing in the headboard instructions on how to attach the two. I did manage to finally figure it out by comparing drawings in both sets of instructions. An oversight on the manufacturer’s part.**Even though the frame was well packed for shipping, there were MANY chips, dings, and gouges throughout. Fortunately in my case, all were in areas that were hidden once assembled, and none of the damage was severe enough to affect the frame structure. All damage appears to have happened pre-shipping, as everything was well protected in foam/cardboard.**The hardware leaves absolutely no room for error. Most manufacturers will include an extra part for each screw, cam lock, bolt, etc., but this one doesn’t. The amount needed is exactly what you get…so if a piece of hardware is defective or missing (which has happened to me several times over the years) you would have to contact the manufacturer and request a new piece before being able to finish assembly. Thankfully for this one, I received all hardware and all fit adequately.**In the instructions, it defines exactly how many parts for all hardware are required, so you can easily check ahead of time to make sure nothing is missing. However, for the bed frame, there is no list…it just jumps straight to assembly directions, making it difficult to ensure that all parts were included.**Also for the hardware: A couple of the different types of screws were in separate bags, but for the majority of the hardware itself (cam locks, bolts, etc. … and there was a LOT) everything was simply tossed together in one giant bag. It’s a minor detail, but adds to frustration when one is trying to assemble the product.**The materials used: This bed is listed as made from manufactured wood, which I’ve had in other furniture pieces I’ve bought over the years, and generally, in those products I’ve bought in the past, appears as a solid, compact composite of wood glued together, almost resembling a real wood core. Unfortunately, the type of manufactured wood with this bed looks more like particle board with a veneer on top. As a result, some of the screws (such as the ones holding the drawer runners, which tighten into the unfinished edges of the drawers) don’t tighten fully, since there particle board aspect doesn’t give enough solidity for them to grip well. Finally, not a con, just a heads-up: This bed does take some time to put together, mainly because there are so many small steps involved. I took my time with it, so if you are patient, it doesn’t come across as an indomitable task.

Looks really good, only reason it is a 5 is cause of the hassle it took to get here.

Despite being great for growing children it’s also very flexible and versatile especially if you are trying to maximize the space in your bedroom.

Black

When trying to open up a smaller bedroom most people often think about bright colors with light hues, but also there is a stronger advantage for going darker and there is no better way to do that than with a black bed. Black is known to amplify small spaces and also set the right mood in your bedroom space. A black colored bed makes your bedroom fell more intimate and special in ways that you could have never imagined before, something that you would never achieve with any of those bright colors. Drawers

A cluttered bedroom is not pleasing and relaxing at all. Sometimes, though your things are well-organized, seeing them still makes your space crowded. Two options are available: throw away your stuff or upgrade your regular bed into a drawer or storage bed. For sure, you will choose the latter, right?

Space-saving and multifunctional, drawer beds can make you feel like you don't need shelves and cabinets anymore. They come with 2 drawers, 4 drawers, 2 full and 2 half drawers, or end drawers built in the bed frame. Full ottoman and half ottoman are also available, where the entire bed offers hidden storage space. Drawer beds can also benefit your stuff since they are hidden, they won't accumulate dust. Finding them can also be easy for you because you have just one place to look at. After all, a tidy room can make your sleep better and more comfortable. And, yes, there's no such thing as too much storage.

Kids

The home is the training ground for children. It's where they learn and cultivate their values and character. So as a parent or a guardian, you play a big role in who they will become. Allow them to be themselves, to explore what they like, and to play with their imagination. Actually, you can start with their bedroom. How? Ask them what wall color they like. If you have an extra budget for a custom-made bed, ask your little one how he would like for it to look like. A car? A train? A spaceship? A dollhouse? Or if you can, build the bed yourself! It can be a great bonding time for you and your kids.

A kid's bed can also be space-saving with its built-in drawers, which can be a way to tidy up their toys and books. Beds with bedside table, where your child(ren) can study and play with papers and crayons, are also available in the market. Of course, kids love to play. Make bedtime fun with tent beds, beds with slide, and house-shaped kids' beds! Surely, your youngster will enjoy both his waking and sleeping hours.

Platform

You may be looking for a bed that is timeless and cost-effective and maybe your life quote is "simplicity is beauty," then you can swear by platform beds. A platform bed is a simple bed frame that has a solid foundation capable to hold any type of mattress without the need of a box spring. It also comes with built-in slats to allow airflow and breathability. And since box springs are unnecessary, you can save money if you decide to buy a new mattress.

Though simple, it doesn't mean that this type of bed is boring. Platform beds come from various materials, such wood, metal, and fiberboard. You may even have them upholstered for an added classic touch! Ideal for all ages, they are also available in different sizes: twin, full, queen, and king. Interestingly, platform beds are great for storing extra stuff since many of them come with drawers and headboard shelving, perfect for keeping your bedroom tidy.

Storage Included

When your bedroom space is small storage can be the biggest challenge you will encounter. Your closet could be a solution but not big enough to pack so many clothes. Well, you may want to buy a bigger cabinet, but you don’t want to pack so many dressers and cabinets into your space that it feels clunky and crowded. Storage beds are a fantastic way to get more space without adding extra furniture, and a lot of them are so stylishly designed you almost don’t notice the drawers are there. This bed design offers a great way to make the most of the space in your room, giving you a place to stash clothes, bedding, and more inside or beneath your bed frame. The best storage beds feature spacious compartments that are easy to access, and with tons of styles to choose from. The most common options are shelves built into the headboard or drawers built into the frame below the mattress. Depending on the reason you want space, a storage bed provides easy access, but if you're storing items that you don't need to get to very often, you can opt for a spacious platform beneath the bed that can be accessed when you lift the mattress. Ultimately, your choice will come down to what's most convenient for you.
