If you're a bit old-school like I am with your AV system, you've got several components that need to be stored together. A receiver, maybe a Blu-Ray player, maybe a gaming console or maybe a turntable. If so, there aren't a lot of great options to store and display them together that’s affordable. After a lot of online searching, I ran into this Mount-It media stand that fit my basic needs. Pictures looked good and I wanted a shorter media stand to sit underneath a light switch. And it was under a $100, nice! After a lot of measurements and looking at the official Yamaha specs for my receiver, I ordered the stand with some trepidation. The AV stand comes in a heavy flat-pack with a bunch of black tubes, steel rods, connectors and a backside wire guide. The instructions are not great but you get the gist of things pretty quickly. It all assembles in a bit of an odd fashion with metal rods being connected with steel connectors and the support tubes sitting on top of the glass shelves. It took me maybe 30 minutes and in the end, it looks great! Dark, shiny glass shelves with rounded corners, nothing is adjustable so make sure your components will fit in each slot.Of course, then the moment of truth comes, I've got a newer Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver and I'm eye-balling the receiver in, looks tight. But phew, the receiver slides in with molecules of air as clearance on either side. Just kidding, I may have an 1/8" clearance on each side. I connect the banana plugs in back and push the receiver in. The front face sits just past the front of the support tubes by an inch or so to accommodate all the plugs in back. BUT if my AV receiver was a hair wider, this stand will be a problem. You may be able to assemble the stand around the receiver but that won't leave you any mobility as you wire it.But thankfully the receiver fit in perfectly, looks sort of custom now! And there's just enough room for the cabling too. You absolutely have to measure things up before buying, I got a bit lucky. Overall it's a great deal if the dimensions work for your components but based upon other reviews seen here, there may be problems. Good luck!!Read more

Your general, "cheap junk from China that I bought from Target and now have to assemble" feel, immediately upon opening the box. The pictogram "instructions" are terribly small, to the point of guessing at first. Overall, not hard to put together but just annoying enough to get on here and complain about it.The manufacturer should add 1/4 or 1/2 to the inner-width by shrinking the fake pole size, saving money and giving the consumer more room. As it is essentially designed to be a TV/entertainment center/stereo system stand, my experience with this product shows that all devices (even some big JVC receivers from 90s) will fit but in many cases it is "just wide enough". Generally too tight of a fit for my tastes but it is functioning and looks nice. The worst part about tight fit is actually in the back. If you have an A/V receiver on the bottom with all the wires hooked up, you will probably not want to install the metal cover that creates the hole you put your wires through. In my case, it didn't leave enough room for even speaker wire to be plugged in properly. Not installing the bottom piece of metal with the hole in it was the solution.Keep in mind, this design is overall flawed, as it is only stable if "bottom-heavy". If you have all the shelves empty, and decide to put something heavy on top, be careful. The floor support (legs) in the back are close together but far apart in the front. If you look at it, it is as if it was designed backwards, then they spun the back-to-front and made a minor tweak to make the back function as the front. Again, it is working fine and it looks cool with almost matching my desk but YMMV not for all.I give it good marks overall, as I'm happy with it and using it as my A/V stand, with a turntable on top, some gear in the middle, and main receiver on the bottom shelf. However, for $80 bucks I dunno.. feels like cheap junk that looks nice but then again something more sturdy and durable is probably at least triple the cost (and up).Read more

The good:-Looks great;-Cable management is sufficient to hide almost everything from view;-Others said it wasn't sturdy, but I don't have any concerns about it tipping over;-The price dropped $20 after I purchased it and the seller refunded me the difference after I contacted them. The not so good:-The actual usable dimensions of each shelf is far different from measurements provided in the photo. The distance between the back two legs and the front two legs is a little over 13". The distance between the front two legs is about 17". Thankfully I have a Marantz slimline receiver that barely fit; I had to hacksaw out the cable management hole to fit more cables in the back;-One of the rear feet wouldn't screw on;-The instructions only included the first of what I think are two pages;-And there's a super tacky "MADE IN CHINA" stamped on the right front corner of the top shelf.Overall it does what I want it to do and looks pretty good at the same time.Read more

Cable Management

Electric devices play a crucial role in brightening the living room and breaking boredom. A cable management feature on a tv stand will ensure neatness while offering safety. All devices must use electricity and cables running everywhere, which can pose a significant risk for any member of the house. With a cable management feature installed on a tv stand, you rest assured of safety and elegance. Stands without proper cable management usually look shaggy, and in case you have toddlers around, you never know when the can will be changed to 'meal' as they don't choose what goes in the mouth. Managing cables or wires helps to maintain essential functions and also protect the devices from the clogged airflow due to messy and disordered wires. Tangled-up lines may make it hard for anyone cleaning the tv stand. The cable management feature is therefore essential to create a visually pleasing and clean work environment.

Black

A black finish on your tv stand is one of the best options for a tv stand. Black establishes an eye-catching relationship between the rest of the living room decor and your tv stand. It also makes the furniture complement each other. The black finish will most likely blend in with the rest of your decor and walls unless you choose a different option. The tv stand itself won’t stand out, but you can use elements around it that do. For example, white flower vases are a great bet. The exact role can be taken on by the area rug or the lighting in the room. Each black tv finish stand has its own set of properties, which allow it to stand out in various ways and to interact with the surrounding space in its path. However, the black finish will easily show dust hence making you clean more. This finish does not take scratches and dents well, therefore expensive to maintain.
