Arrived in three boxes. The heaviest box contained the hardware, bed slats, ladder, and the majority of the frame. A lighter but longer box contained the length-wise pieces. And the third box contained the drawer.Assembly was fairly straightforward. All that was needed was a screwdriver and the provided hex wrenches. The instructions were pictures only but were relatively easy to follow. Pieces were conveniently labeled with numbers to simplify the process. I was able to complete all steps by myself except for the part where the upper bunk was lifted on top of the lower. The most difficult part was aligning the decorative slats in the head and foot boards. I also had to re-do one step since I had the screw holes on the headboard facing the wrong way. If you keep in mind that small holes face inward; recessed holes face outwards, you'll have no problems. If you intend on using foam mattresses, you'll need to buy some 1/4" plywood (4ft x 74") to lay on top the slats, which are spaced 12" apart with 9.5" gaps. The bed is made entirely of wood except for two metal support bars that run lengthwise underneath the mattress slats.Overall, the bed is sturdy and quiet. No creaks and minimal movement felt on the bottom bunk when someone is moving on the top.Read more

Amazingly fast shipping. Told it would arrive on Tuesday but arrived the Thursday before.Easy to assemble. Even by myself with the help of a 3 year old.I assembled the top bunk in place on the bottom bunk which the directions don't say to do. But I didnt have the space.Went together great.Very sturdy. The kids love it.Strongly recommend. Large high quality bed frame. Perfect for growing kids who are 10 going on 20.

It’s was more than I expected after reading all these reviews..... oh boy!!! I feel like people do not realize what’s allowed on these kind of beds and what’s not!!! IF and only IF assembled correctly it’s sturdy and nice looking piece of furniture! There is one construction addition I feel like needed to be made is when you screw down wooden planks to the bed that hold the mattress, make sure you stretch it as far as you can (this way it fills all the space alongside and center it) and make sure you put in your screws using your common sense, since at some places if you put it in as they marked them to go (and mean only the angle) it may crack your plank.... just reevaluate: thickness of the board, the distance from all edges and aim for the center of it, you’ll be fine)))

But this for my grandkids never thought there were full-size bunk beds out there but this is work great and I love the drawers underneath. My husband put it together and said it was a piece of cake! Very well put together and sturdy.

Assembly was good, quality seems fine. However the design of the drawers could be improved. They are not attached to the bed at all, they simply slide underneath freely. This might work OK on carpet, but on hardwood the drawers slide completely under the bed (past the front surface). This causes a couple issues - your fingers can get pinched between the bed and drawer face, and the drawers do not stay in any order once slide under the bed (not straight/aligned/parallel). If the drawer face was taller (or casters), this would not happen (the face would then touch the bed and seat flush against it. I will modify myself.

I gave it 4 stars... it took my husband a solid 6 or 7 hours to put together... (minus the drawers which he put together a few days later) he was able to put most of it together by himself minus needing my help a few times (like putting one on top of the other...etc) it’s our first bunk bed purchase... my husband said the directions were kinda difficult to read/understand and the pictures in them were hard to figure out... but he made do... as far as sturdiness... I feel it’s sturdy-ish... but it makes me nervous going on top bunk... my 10 year old sleeps up there and my 3 year old will climb up there as well... the stairs are a little tricky and hurt my feet when I get up there to make the bed... and the last step is kinda tall for my 3 year old and he’s a tall 3 year old for his age... also when I lay with my 3 year old in the bottom bunk it shakes the whole bunk bed when my older child moves/rolls around in the top bunk... kinda makes me nervous at times! As far as value for the money... if I had more money I would’ve bought one that was sturdier with stairs or something but I liked the fact that this one can break down into 2 full sized beds later on... (which is why I got full over full instead of twin over full)... overall I’d probably buy this bed again... we’ve only had it set up about 2 or 3 weeks now but it’s worked out pretty good for us! The bed came in great shape no damage from delivery.. came in 3 boxes! It my sons love it!Read more

I purchased a full-sized set of bunkbeds from Maxwood Furniture on April 25, 2021 for $720.80. The beds were delivered on May 3, 2021. They offgassed a very strong odor for the first three weeks, despite being marketed as a "low VOC" product. My home VOC meter immediately picked up the off gassing. The beds are still offgassing two months later—this bunk bed is clearly greenwashed.Within two months of use, six slats have cracked and my daughter's mattress is sagging through the slats. My daughter only weighs 32 pounds and this bed is supposed to be rated for 400 pounds. The slats are 9" apart, which is far greater than industry standards of 3". The webpages mentions nothing about this extra spacing and states: "fit standard sized mattresses up to 8 inches thick, and don't require bunkie boards or box springs." I contacted Maxwood Furniture on three separate occasions to request two full-sized slat rolls, which are safer and the appropriate spacing for this bed. The company has refused to send the correct slats for this bed.I am notifying the WA State Attorney General and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission before any children are harmed with this poorly designed bed.Read more

Twin

A Twin bed also referred to as a single bed is one of the smallest bed in the market with a dimension of 38’’ by 75’’. Its compact size makes it ideal for single sleepers may it be children or an adult living in a small space such as a studio apartment. It’s an affordable and versatile bed set up for various sleepers such as toddlers and college student in the dorm. For over several decades it has been one of the most popular beds among college students and young children in their early teens as you can find it in most of their bedrooms, however in this modern age where people are seeking for more comfort and space, the popularity of twin beds is been over taken by queen size beds. Despite being great for growing children it’s also very flexible and versatile especially if you are trying to maximize the space in your bedroom.

Gray

Gray as a color can be somehow depressing and uninspiring especially in a darker bedroom, and as you already know sleeping in a gray bedroom is not as satisfying as sleeping in a brighter bedroom. Gray might not be as inviting as other colors but that doesn’t mean that a Gray bed is not a good choice for your bedroom. All you need to know before choosing a gray bed or any other no so bright colored bed is which bedroom décor is the best for that specific bed color. With a gray bed it can be really advantageous especially if you have an all-white bedroom since it will tone down the general look for your bedroom, creating some form of contrast. In case you have a bright bedroom and you wish to tone down I would definitely recommend for you a gray bed to help tone down your bedroom décor.

Drawers

A cluttered bedroom is not pleasing and relaxing at all. Sometimes, though your things are well-organized, seeing them still makes your space crowded. Two options are available: throw away your stuff or upgrade your regular bed into a drawer or storage bed. For sure, you will choose the latter, right?

Space-saving and multifunctional, drawer beds can make you feel like you don't need shelves and cabinets anymore. They come with 2 drawers, 4 drawers, 2 full and 2 half drawers, or end drawers built in the bed frame. Full ottoman and half ottoman are also available, where the entire bed offers hidden storage space. Drawer beds can also benefit your stuff since they are hidden, they won't accumulate dust. Finding them can also be easy for you because you have just one place to look at. After all, a tidy room can make your sleep better and more comfortable. And, yes, there's no such thing as too much storage.

Kids

The home is the training ground for children. It's where they learn and cultivate their values and character. So as a parent or a guardian, you play a big role in who they will become. Allow them to be themselves, to explore what they like, and to play with their imagination. Actually, you can start with their bedroom. How? Ask them what wall color they like. If you have an extra budget for a custom-made bed, ask your little one how he would like for it to look like. A car? A train? A spaceship? A dollhouse? Or if you can, build the bed yourself! It can be a great bonding time for you and your kids.

A kid's bed can also be space-saving with its built-in drawers, which can be a way to tidy up their toys and books. Beds with bedside table, where your child(ren) can study and play with papers and crayons, are also available in the market. Of course, kids love to play. Without combining materials, you get a clean and uniform looking bed that will match any bedroom. The con of a single-material bed is that they won’t stand out as much as other beds, but this can also be a pro as well, as it means they’ll easily blend into any room and not take attention away from other features that are nearby. The single-material is recommended if you’re after a bed for a minimalist setting, something that looks very simple and neutral - then you’re going to be satisfied by the single-material bed. Single-material beds also look great when you have two separate beds in the same room - the single-material look really gives the room a strong, matching and consistent appearance.

Espresso Wood

When talking about coffees, espresso is the strong black one. In furniture and woods, it is actually somewhat similar to that. Espresso is a deep, dark brown color, so dark that it is sometimes mistaken to be jet black when, in fact, it stands between the two colors. If you want your bed to look elegant, go for espresso wood. It will also appear neat because dark color can magically tuck away dirt and dust. When under direct lighting, espresso gives out red hues. Cabinets, tables, and shelves that are in espresso sell more than those in light colors because many people opt for a traditional and classic look. Because of its neutral color, espresso is very versatile. It can go well with any home color scheme and design style. Since it's not black and definitely not a bright color, espresso can be pleasing and gentle to the feeling and to the eyes. It can also make you feel relaxed because of its soothing and coffee-like color, perfect after a long day at work.

Espresso may also be your favorite drink! You will definitely wake up feeling energized just by seeing your bed.
