Let me start by saying I consider myself a strong independent stubborn woman who is NOT skilled in construction of any kind. I was excited at this cabinet bcuz I loved that it 1. It Held a lot of movies and 2. Was able to be locked. (Those of u that have had lost favorite prized movies or movies one wishes to not have child access get this). Anyways so I purchased this without reading the reviews. Then on the day it was set to arrive I figured I’d read them. I know I know a little late Lol. The box arrived and I unpacked it’s contents noting that it is packaged very well. Got the Pieces out and set aside saving the small box of hardware and instructions for last. I glanced at the contents confidently assuming that this would be simple. The first few pages of steps go very fast and smooth prepping the main outer pieces. Then u get about half way and it’s time to put together the pieces you’ve prepped. He’s where it goes south. See the images say to put the magnetic hinge thing on the left. Lies. It needs to go On the right where it matches up to the right door with the metal plate to latch. The bottom supports do not in any way align with the side pieces by way of wooden pegs so be prepared to hammer HARD. The inside supports are fragile and will split and break easily. (Tho I was able to easily fix it with nails and glue. Then added extra nails into the back pieces along the length to make as good as new.) You get the outer frame done and flip it on its face to nail the back pieces. It’s actual thin wood and not the typical cardboard that’s nice. It nails on very well and is super sturdy after done. Now we attach doors. Once again the hardware allows for sliding yet there’s no real directions on should they be slide all the way up or dow or anything. So expect to make MANY adjustments while do this. Doors are hung and it would seem now comes the easy part of adding locks and shelves. Here is where one needs a degree in “McGuivering” said things. the locks state to assemble one way I’m telling I they in fact go the opposite. Lock the lock and have it facing up so unlocking turns the metal piece inward not out. This makes a smooth lock u like picture that hints the opposite. The lock has a pice that’s to hammer into the door. But as you’ve already attached it there’s no way to hammer it in so I left it off completely and again it works just fine. Also expect a small 1/16th inch gap between the front doors. It’s impossible to adjust it to not have that. You receive one half filled tube of superglue. Yes you paid $250 for a cabinet that expects you to apply superglue as a way to install a door shelf. You don’t even have enough glue to do all of them but if you’re like me you’ll add some tack nails to the sides and secure shelves that way anyways. By the time you finish assembling this you will feel someone robbed you of money while also having a degree in cabinet construction. Not knowing if you win or lost. Expect to have extra “parts”. The good: this cabinet finished looks just like the pictures and holds a large number of movies as stated. The bad: you need a minor degree in construction at the end. Mine came with the correct number of screws however some were the wrong sizes than what was stated. Realistically no one has a week to wait for replacements so I used my misc on hand screws and made it work. Also the center supports lack any real structure and one of mine broke while assembling again some gorilla glue and a few nails later it was fine. There are no real instructions but 10 pages of full size line drawings with bubbles to show detail of some parts. One must have a minor degree in rigging to make sense of said directions.Overall: the price does not reflect its value after the energy and time this sucks from ones life to assemble. Still happy with purchase tho due to it fits what I needed and wanted to store my extensive movie collection. Would also work for paperback novels if one collected a specific author or something that had a lot of mainly paperback releases.Read more

Instructions, as usual, are incomplete at best- but with care assembly is fairly easy. I must HIGHLY recommend at least two people to put it together. Mine came missing some hinges, but the seller is fixing that. Until they are delivered I assembled everything else. One item to note- the base is fairly weak and NOT set-up to realistically accept glides. So, I bought a 2”x4”x4’, and cut it into 8ea 6” pcs (and glued/screwed 1/2” MDF to make the blocks 2” in depth). These I glued and screwed to the bottom (4ea front & back) and then attached a 2-1/2” glide to each. Much better. I screwed from the inside and countersunk, then filled and painted the screw holes.

Honestly, it fit our needs, and pretty much what I expected based on the descriptions and other reviews. It’s particle board/press board, so, it’s not the BEST quality, but, it’s up to par with other DIY kits. The ONLY issues I had was a few of the pre-drilled holes were not lined up right. I grabbed a knife, and fixed it. And, the shelves are odd at times, you just have to adjust and figure out where it works best. Also, in reading other reviews, I thought it would be a great idea to use wood glue to help secure the joints.

I liked the locking feature on this piece as I have a 1 year old, however the shoddy design and poor engineering proved too much. my 1 year old daughter was able to rip the door off the hinges with minimal effort. this thing is a piece of junk.

No instructions, the box had previously been opened, all tape had been cut and retaped, with plastic banding added. The hardware bags and all panels were not marked, of course without instructions this is a moot point, compared to the other cabinet we assembled yesterday, different supplier, before attempting to assemble this mess, was a much better product, came with clear instructions, all parts, panels, and hardware were clearly marked.

I give this 4 stars just because of the pain it was to put together. I thought I could do it by myself, but [you] must have help, because you get one side put together and then the other side wants to collapse. You must be patient with it. It's well worth it. I love it now. People shouldn't totally dog it just because they're impatient to put it together. It takes time, patience and effort. well worth it. I love the new DVD cabinet. I really needed it.

Total pos! Holds most of my blu rays but while trying to drag on carpet wall came right out. Im using it for now but def looking for something better. For $250 you would think it would be better made. Instructions were horrible and the whole thing is cheap!

This piece did not go together properly, does not fit as many DVD's as stated, size was not what was stated on Amazon. I would send this back except it's put together and the cost would be more than it's worth.

Black

A black finish on your tv stand is one of the best options for a tv stand. Black establishes an eye-catching relationship between the rest of the living room decor and your tv stand. It also makes the furniture complement each other. The black finish will most likely blend in with the rest of your decor and walls unless you choose a different option. The tv stand itself won’t stand out, but you can use elements around it that do. For example, white flower vases are a great bet. The exact role can be taken on by the area rug or the lighting in the room. Each black tv finish stand has its own set of properties, which allow it to stand out in various ways and to interact with the surrounding space in its path. However, the black finish will easily show dust hence making you clean more. This finish does not take scratches and dents well, therefore expensive to maintain.
