We needed to replace wooden slates that couldn't support queen mattress. This was very sturdy. Steel cross bars and legs in middle provided needed support. Better instructions would have been helpful but other than that this was perfect for us.

I was very happy that the frame had hooks that fit perfectly into an existing headboard and footboard we inherited. The frame was adjustable as advertised, but it did not come with instructions on how to put the C clamps on the middle supports. I found a YouTube video that explained how they work and then it was fully functional. Pretty self explanatory otherwise, and we have had people sleep on the frame and it appears to hold the mattress nicely and we haven't noticed any buckling or pitching.

Overall bed rails are good and are holding up in use. My wife and I are not small people. The joints could have been made more sturdier but they will suffice. Home Depot shipping was fast and efficient.

whoever designed this thing did not check the final, internal measurements -- it is too narrow to support a queen box spring -- so it is worthless

I can not verify it is 82in long I see 76in. Also does this have hooks at both ends?
It does have hooks on both ends (we successfully connected to our headboard and footboard). As far as length, you will have to go by the product specifications. It holds a standard size queen for us, but if you have an XL mattress, it probably won't work.
1 Helpful 1
I can not verify it is 82in long I see 76in. Also does this have hooks at both ends?
It has hooks at both ends and is 82" Long. The 76" is how wide it can adjust.

Says 82" long … what is the WIDTH of this frame, AND it says adjustable height, what is the heigh...
The width is adjustable. You slide it to desired width and then it comes with fasteners to lock it on the width you set it at. As far as height, that is also adjustable, you lock in the legs where you want them. After you hook it into the bed frame you just unscrew the legs so they sit on the floor. I would say you have 9.5 inches or less from the bottom of the frame to the floor to work with. On my bed, the bottom of the frame sits 9 inches from the floor according to my measurement.

Says 82" long … what is the WIDTH of this frame, AND it says adjustable height, what is the heigh...
The width of the frame is adjustable, I have a wood headboard and footboard with slots for both a standard full or queen matress and this frame works for either of those slots. It could adjust wider (probably to a king), but I don't have proof with me. For the height, mine is a wood furniture height of around 6-7 inches. I have both 6" and 5.5" under bed storage bins under this frame and they clear it well. But I think it's at it's max height of around 7". I have it on carpet and it sinks down a bit with weight on it, so it's hard for me to measure exactly.

The width is adjustable to Queen or King size. The hook on height is whatever height of the Headboard and foot board hook on Brackets.

Can I remove the inner braces to use as a twin xl?
I would say no. I haven't tried it, but after setting it up, I don't think it would be stable as the supports that come out from the side are designed to connect to supports that come out from the middle.
1 Helpful 1
Can I remove the inner braces to use as a twin xl?
In theory it will work but without a center it is unsafe and the foundation could slip through. We do not recommend it for a twin XL

Will this bed frame convert a full bed to a queen bed?
Yes. It can be adjusted to either width (full or queen) you just have to adjust the clamps on the support bars.
1 Helpful 1
Will this bed frame convert a full bed to a queen bed?
I used mine for a king size bed. The frame just slides out or in to adjust for width.

The slots in the bed headboard and footboard are 60" width. Once this bedframe is installed on this headboard, the support rails are 59" wide. The box spring itself is 59.4" wide and will not fit. Is there a solution?
My box spring fit. I do not see a way other than shaving the box spring or getting a smaller one.

Can a longer screw for the height adjustment be purchased separately? My bed is higher off the ground than these screws allow for. Any suggestions or ways to extend?
I would look at bed risers. There isn't a way to adjust it beyond the current set up.

Could the center piece be cut short to narrow it to fit a Twin XL and have the center support still in use ?
I think you can.

Could the center piece be cut short to narrow it to fit a Twin XL and have the center support still in use ?
No. The center cannot be used in the Twin XL setting. Twin & Twin XL don't need a center support to support a mattress set.

Do you need a footboard with this hook on rail frame?
Yes. You need a headboard and footboard.

Somewhere along the way in a move, I no longer have my side boards for my king headboard and foot...
This frame will work for what you intend. You will need to get ride of the existing center as this will replace it. It does have a ledge for the box.
